Welcome back to Bowling at The Crouch 2022.

We have created a new website for the 2022 season which I hope you approve of.  We need plenty of copy and photos so if you have any intesting stories or photos Email to: crouchbowlingclubseaford@gmail.com

Club President Flyle Hussain

I am hoping the new season will be a happy and successful one for the Crouch.
We are delighted to have six new committee members Peter Evans, William Mitchell, Brian Binnings, Daphne Hemings, Pat Budd and Derek Budd, their individual and collective contributions will be much needed to take the Crouch to the next level.

Our Secretary
Peter Evans

Hello, as your new secretary, I would like to welcome you back to a new season of Bowling, hopefully without any restrictions this year. We would also like to invite you all to a Coffee Morning on 9th April and we will hold our usual Open Day on 16th April. Your Membership cards and Fixture List will be available for collection on these dates. Casual Bowling will begin on 18thApril.
Please give your support to the bowlers by trying to watch as many home games as you can, if you are not playing. There is nothing better than sitting in the sun and relaxing with a drink in hand watching a bowls match.

Men's Captain Derek Budd

Only a few more weeks and we will be back on the green. I have already heard members saying how much they are looking forward to the coming season.
Membership numbers are very healthy and the Club has a nice spread of bowlers, from those who just want a friendly roll-up through to others who want to play in County and National Competitions. That is one of the nice things about the Crouch. It is there for all of us.
I hope many of you will enter the Club knock-out competitions. If in doubt – have a go. The draw evening in May is a lot of fun and, once on the green, anything can happen. There have been many surprise results and upsets over the years.
I know our Ladies’ Captain, Sandy, will not mind me mentioning the Ladies’ Limited Entry. This has not been contested for the last couple of years and is in danger of being dropped. Ladies who have not won any of our single’s titles are eligible to enter, so I hope we will get a lot of names on the list.
So, whether you are playing in Friendly Matches, Meridian League Matches, Drives, Crouch Leagues and Knock-outs, County or National events, I wish you a very happy year of bowling.

Ladies Captain
Sandy Richards

The 2022 season is soon approaching and much has changed over the past two years. I do want to say thank you to Ashley 2020, Colin and Yvonne 2021 for working so hard to keep us playing bowls in difficult times.
Let’s enjoy this coming season, first and foremost being with friends, having fun together and enjoying being out on the green bowling.
We have a full programme of matches so plenty of opportunity to put your names down and play. Can I encourage you to enter our club competitions, they are really good practice for improving your game; particularly ladies, please enter the Ladies Limited Entry Competition which is for those who have not yet won a singles competition.
We will be having a women’s roll ups on Tuesday mornings for the first few weeks at 10.00am, starting on the 18th April and Pat and I invite you to join us afterwards for coffee and cakes.
Enjoy this season.

COUNTY NOTES

For all competitions that are initially under the control of this County, The ‘Challenger’  is CLEARLY defined on any draw sheet for County/National Competitions.  IT IS NO LONGER THE TOPMOST NAMED PERSON/TEAM but randomly allocated by the computer.  THIS AVOIDS ANY PERSON BEING always 'HOME' OR 'AWAY' THROUGHOUT THE ROUNDS - just because he is at the top or the bottom of the flowchart.

Bar Secretary Mike Nolan and his Secretary Vi Nolan.

This season is going to be a busy one for the bar. We have 10 touring teams and 45 home games as well as hosting a Ladies County match against Buckinghamshire County Ladies and the Vice Patrons against the County Executive.
Please support the bar in any way you can, even if it’s just a soft drink after a match.
Your Bar Team consist of Mike Nolan, Vi Nolan, Ann Blackman, David Grimley, Ashley Tyler, Brenda Monks, Pat Budd and Derek Budd and this year Rosie Waters will be joining the team.

My thanks to the class of Twenty Twenty One who served the club with great distinction and dedication and gave me wonderful support.
We will sadly miss the contributions of Pat Purser, Brenda Monks, Duncan Richard’s, Colin Newbold, Yvonne Newbold and Maureen Whippy. We wish them well in their early retirement.
Please support your committee and help the Captains by putting your names down for matches, especially away games.
I would like to thank our Sponsors and the Greenkeepers.
Enjoy the season and please win a major trophy and make my day.
