What a great weekend we enjoyed for our competition finals, great weather, great bowling and superb support.

There were many close games, but the mixed pairs was the closest with David Young and R Mottram losing out to Richard Bosworth and Pat Budd on an extra end. Pat Budd also won in the Ladies Two Wood, beating Sandy Richards and also in the Ladies Championship Singles, edging out Rita Mottram in a hard fought match. She lost out to her husband Derek (no dinner for him this week) in the Mixed Yardstick, making her the most successful Lady bowler of the weekend.

Colin Newbold won the Mixed Handicap and was runner up in the Men's Pairs and Derek Budd won the Men's Two Wood along with the aforementioned Mixed Yarstick making him equal top Men's performer along side Garreth Evans. Ashley Tyler was ruuner up in both the Men's Vets and the Men's Two Wood.

The Men's and Ladies Pairs were won convincingly by Alan Emsden/Jim Pope and Sue Conil/Sandy Ricards respectiely.

Congatulation to Wiiliam Mitchell, who is a relatively new bowler, who won the Men's Limited Entry against Eric Forbes and was runner up in both the Mixed Limited Enrty to Graham Payne and the Mixed 100 Up to Garreth Evans.

Garreth also won the Men's Championship Singles against his father Barry who suffered in the heat but pushed Garreth all the way. (Blooming Kids)

Congratulations to everyone who took part in what was a very enjoyable weekend.

Dave Grimley : Competition Secretary.
